A SECOND CHANCE FOR
JAYCE
Utah Animal Adoption Center Horse Rescue volunteers saved this
severely emaciated horse this summer from a long period of
suffering. Upon examination, our vet found that this sweet,
gentle senior horse is at least 450 lbs underweight, due to poor
teeth care and maintenance and lack of food and water over many
months. When our volunteers discovered him, he was near certain
death. They were amazed he could stand and walk and that he
had survived the cold, long harsh winter. We convinced his owner
to relinquish him to us. Neglect charges are pending against him.
Now, thanks to UAAC and you who donate to us, the horse is on
senior feed, nutritious hay three times a day, and
supplements...and lots of TLC. Already his mood and strength
have improved. And his eyes are brighter. Signs he is
clearly grateful for the second chance we have given him.
We can only help horses with your generous donations. Please
make a donation today to our Horse Rescue (or dog/cat) program to
help us provide feed, veterinary care and better lives for
neglected or slaughter-bound horses in Utah, where we occasionally
buy perfectly nice, gentle, discarded horses from the feed lot:
temporary holding pens for unwanted, unappreciated horses, thus
saving at least a few from being shipped out of state to
slaughter.
