IN LOVING MEMORY
As hard as we try to save lives, we also
strive to prevent suffering. Sadly some animals are so ill,
injured or old that their quality of life would not be humane.
This year we had to say "goodbye for now" to some very special
animals, whose lives and personalities we will never
forget.
BROTHER BEAR

The little horse that had been abandoned in the desert, lost his
two-year struggle to fight an auto-immune disease, just a few
months after being adopted by a wonderful young family who
pampered and doted on him. In his last years of life,
Brother Bear knew the love, compassion and soft hands and words
that come with being deeply loved. Thank you to the
veterinarians, foster homes, volunteers and his adoptive home,
Nadja Medley and family.
CHANCE

The little Staffordshire Terrier, passed away from his
neurological disorder in November of 2007. We held sweet
little Chance as he was peacefully "sent up" and over the Rainbow
Bridge as we said "goodbye for now, but forever in our
hearts". We hope his foster family knows how grateful we are
to them, that they were there for this little guy when he needed
them most; without them, he would have died all those months ago
in the animal shelter. And thanks to them, he enjoyed having
a full belly, a kind family, warm home, and the gentle touch of
caring hands throughout the year they fostered him. They are
indeed a special family. All of us have been blessed to know this
sweet, loving, happy and resilient special dog.
